I decided to give my wife some recognition for her hard work. I thought the best way to do that was blog about all the great things she does. So, here are the reasons why my wife rocks.

Friday
Homemade banana bread for breakfast and hot coffee from my percolator! Mmmmm... Then she got our son dressed and ready for a day at the train museum with daddy! When we got home she had cleaned all the wood floors, made homemade play-dough for party favors, and started prepping food for the party tomorrow. Amazing!

Thursday
Mmm, homemade fried okra, and as a bonus she is wearing one of my favorite outfits. She has been getting ready for our son's birthday party this weekend as well.

Wednesday
My wife got up at least five times last night with our son and got him back to bed. She made sure I got enough sleep since I have a big meeting today. Since Ian moved into his "big boy" bed he likes to get up at night and walk around. Sometimes we have to sit in his room until he falls back asleep. My wife still got up early this morning and made me breakfast and coffee (in the percolator again). She then took our son to swim practice, and dropped by my office to visit me at lunch. I won't be done with work until late tonight, but she told me she has everything handled at home tonight. She is currently looking for train-shaped baking tins so she can make our son a custom birthday cake this weekend.

Tuesday
Fresh coffee made in my old school percolator. One of those that you have to disassemble and clean every time you use it. Accept no substitute. Also toast she cut from a loaf of homemade bread. As a bonus, she took our son to visit my dad. They went to the park, fed the ducks and lunch. I'm not sure who had more fun, my dad or my son. Just in a day's work for my awesome wife!

Monday
So far today, she has gotten packed and ready for mom-tot swim class, and is headed to her parent's house so our son can see a visiting relative who is passing through. It isn't even 8:00 am and she is on a roll!
Weekend update
Friday night - she went to a very pregnant friend of ours house, cooked dinner, helped clean up the house, and even baked a homemade blueberry pie. All while watching our son and our pregnant friend's son.
Saturday -was a great team member while we went to a co-worker's BBQ. We split watching our son so each of us could enjoy hanging out.
Sunday - got us all together to go swimming with the neighbors. She has our son swimming very well. Since she was on the diving team my wife was showing our son how she can dive. He loved it and asked her to dive over and over.

The idea
I had an idea a few months ago to chronicle the cool stuff my wife does for me. I wanted to keep as close to a daily log as possible, then show it to her after a few months. So today starts the first post. I'll catch up with some stuff from the last few days:
Wednesday - Invited me to come watch our son's swim lesson at the Y. By far the highlight of the week and a great way to send off on a business trip.
Thursday - Paid the bills and made sure I had plenty of room on the credit card for business expenses.
Friday (today) - She is making it possible for me and few friends to go out tonight. She's watching our son and going to have dinner with a friend and her son.
Some of these blog posts may be repetitive, but my wife does really great things for me every day and she deserves to be recognized for it. So, here we go!
