I decided to give my wife some recognition for her hard work. I thought the best way to do that was blog about all the great things she does. So, here are the reasons why my wife rocks.

Friday
Amy took Ian to her parents house tonight to visit. I know she is tired since Ian got up last night. Amy put him back to bed but it took a while. I had to leave early this morning so no coffee for me, but I definitely missed it. I think Amy has turned me into a coffee snob since I am so used to drinking what she makes for me. I am also starting to believe that cooking from scratch can sometimes be just as fast as a mix. I whipped up a batch of muffins for Amy's birthday and it didn't seem like a big deal at all. Now I just need to cook more often.

Thursday
Mission accomplished! When Amy stopped crying she read a few of the entries. We sat last night and read through some of the old entries. They seem so long ago and she had forgotten a lot of what had happened just a short 54 days ago. Response has been pretty good from everyone too. I know a couple guys from my car club are going to borrow my blog idea and that is okay. If I inspire a few guys to say nice things to their wives, then that is awesome. I'm going to keep this up and see where it goes. Amy had a great birthday and even got a night of sleep for once. She deserved it. She even dropped me off at work this morning. And tasty chicken pesto for dinner. Mmmm.

Wednesday
It is Amy's birthday! Hello everyone and welcome to the blog I created as part of my gift to her this year. Hopefully you will take some time and read through the posts I made over the last several weeks. You are reading this slightly before Amy does, so feel free to comment and tell her why you think she rocks. I am going to try and keep this up so you can check in and see more reasons why my wife rocks. I love you Amy!

Tuesday
I had an early morning appointment so I had to leave Amy alone this morning to handle Ian. I know she handles Ian all day long but in the morning I try to help out while I am there. Amy was nice enough to take her friend's son to the park this morning. Ian likes playing with the boy and they get along great. Amy is always doing thoughtful things like that. I got home just in time to help with dinner. Our neighbor is about to deliver twins any second so Amy went over to check on them and see if they wanted dinner. Tomorrow I am going to sent this blog out to all of our friends and some of my car clubs so they too can see why my wife rocks.

Monday
The last few nights our son has been very adamant about Amy putting him to bed. When he wakes up at night he wants the same. Amy has been wiped out tired for the last few days. She has been up at least twice every night to get Ian back to bed. I know she has been letting me sleep and I appreciate it. I have had a lot going on at work lately and she knows it. She did manage to whip up some of the most amazing nachos for dinner. She took a whole pizza pan and made a mountain of fantastic, delicious, amazing nachos. I took a photo and posted it on Facebook it was so good looking.
On Wednesday I'm finally going to send Amy the link to this blog and post it on our Facebook page, and email it to our friends. I hope she likes it, but just in case I also bought her some presents. I don't think she'll mind.

Sunday
Amy knows that my time is limited. I really only get to see Ian on the weekends. But today she encouraged me to help out a friend with his truck. I wanted to help him anyway but knowing that she supported me spending the afternoon in the garage was a huge relief. Ian and our neighbor's son played in the front yard while my friend and I fixed the truck. Amy even cooked homemade lunch for us (chicken casserole, one of her specialties). She somehow was able to cook a homemade meal while also keeping our son entertained. Amazing.
Saturday
Have I mentioned that I don't deserve my wife? Today we had lunch with my parent's for my mother's birthday. Afterwards Ian took a nap and I worked on my Bible study. Amy laughed because normally she is the one cramming in Bible study time. We all then piled into my '69 Olds convertible and headed to a local car show. I strapped Ian's car seat into the old car and he loved it. Amy loves riding in that car and I need to take them out more often. We stayed at the show for a long time and even ate at a local diner. I know Amy isn't a car nut but I really had a great time with them and Ian. Amy was letting little kids sit in the car, which I thought was great because I want her to know that it is as much my car as hers. She had a great time telling people about the car and how she married me for it. Too funny.
Friday
I haven't mentioned the piping hot coffee in the mornings lately. Amy still does that, every day without fail. I don't ask her to do it and I am quite capable of making my own coffee, but it is something she does just for me. I really need to find something like that for her. I do chores around the house but that doesn't match with her love language. I've been trying to say what I feel more lately, I know she likes that. All those little things that pop in my head I need to say more often. When I do say them though her brown eyes light up, which is reward enough.
Thursday
There are times when Amy is better than fantastic. This was one of those days. I found out my dental bill was going to be way higher than I thought. I had done so much planning to make sure everything was covered but it still ended up costing us a fortune. I called Amy and broke the news about how much we owed. She simply replied "don't worry, we can take care of if". She knew I was down about the whole thing but her words were what I needed to hear, because I knew if she said so it would be true.

Wednesday
Leftover hamburger pie was great for lunch. I had to run home tonight to sell one of my old cars. I hate to sell the car but there just is not room in the garage. Amy got me car. You read that right, she got me a non running project car. She definitely understands me! Amy took Ian to church and even packed a dinner to go while I got the car ready to sell. She did the math an signed us up for discounted diapers delivered to our house every other month. It is a pretty good deal. She is doing so well with our finances and I am glad to know she has it all in control.
Tuesday
Amy made homemade cheeseburger pie but unfortunately she added a can of Rotel spicy tomatoes. Those proved to be too spicy for her but I loved it. I will have plenty for lunch tomorrow. I have no idea how Amy finds time to do laundry during the day. I only have to put up my laundry and I still struggle to find the time to do that! Between Ian, the house, and all the chores Amy sure does get a lot done in a day.

Monday
Labor Day, a nice day off. We got up and had banana bread for breakfast. It was even better the second day. I watched Ian for a little while so Amy could work on her project. She is consigning a bunch of Ian's old clothes this month. She has to catalog and tag everything. I know it is a lot of work but she is really making our family budget go far doing things like this. I need to make sure I make time for her to work on her own projects more often.
Sunday
Homemade banana bread! Apparently when Amy and Ian got up they cooked up a fresh loaf of banana bread using some soon to be old bananas. A truly great use for fruit that Ian would not have eaten. After church it was nap time for Ian while we ate leftover enchiladas. Amy recommended we watch a movie after Ian went to bed. Her movie choice was excellent, The King's Speech.
Saturday
What a long but good day! Amy watched Ian while Todd, Raymond and I built the kids a huge sandbox. I know Ian wand to help but Amy did a great job keeping him inside and away from the power tools. After the sandbox was finished we had a BBQ with the neighbors. The kids played in the sandbox while we ate dinner. Amy was nice enough to put all the kids in the bath so that the other parents could rest a little. She is so great with kids.
Friday
Got off early from work today so I could come home and take Ian for a trip to the store. We went to get supplies for our sandbox project. Amy had lunch ready for me and piping hot coffee this morning. I met Amy at church with Ian. We drove separate so I could take Ian home once he got tired. I am glad Amy likes coming to the friday night fire services.

Thursday
Ian's first day at gymnastics class! Amy is very smart to let him try out new things. Unfortunately he was still very clingy but the teacher said he did okay. I came home to wonderful smelling homemade enchiladas. Amy made fresh salsa from tomatoes our neighbor gave us along with some peppers from her uncle's farm. It was amazing. She has been really playing with new recipes lately and I admit I love it. The other morning she made coffee cake muffins wit Ian helping. She made a whole batch for our neighbors to come over and enjoy.
Wednesday
Amy wanted to make it to church to see our friends before they leave. Even better she made us a quick chicken pesto spaghetti dinner. She did the math and found it would cost $10 to make pesto, versus $3 to buy it pre made. It was delicious and I asked for extra for lunch tomorrow. And as always she made sure to send me off with a piping hot cup of coffee.
Tuesday
Amy needed me to hurry home tonight so she could go to s church meeting. It was also her first day back at her Tuesday morning bible study. She is a truly amazing person for being so active in the church. Brilliantly she got a baked chicken from the market for dinner. Tasty and very useful once I stripped all the meat off. Amy is good about using leftovers to make delicious encore meals.
Monday
Back to work for me. We are still getting used to normal life, but Amy still had piping hot coffee for me this morning. She was up with Ian last night too, but we are going to try some new ideas with him this week.
